Quiz Master World Knowledge

Book by Editorial Reviews From School Library Journal Gr 3 Up-Quiz Master: World Knowledge is an academic Trivial Pursuit-type game with no board and all the game cards held permanently in a stiff cardboard case (so they cannot be lost). The game can be played with two or more players. It is played by sliding one card at a time to the left or right, thus revealing a picture to one or more players and three questions related to the picture to the other players. There are three levels of questions: Head Hummers (worth one point), Skull Sizzlers (worth two points), and Brain Boilers (worth three points). There are seven general categories: Places, World Knowledge, Animals, Ecology, Our Planet, Culture and Pot Luck. The player with the highest point score wins. The subjects are too varied and the cards are too small (about 2"x5") for the game to be played by an entire class. However, where classes are set up in stations, this could be a successful activity for a small group. It also could be the basis for a library scavenger hunt.
