In Buried Treasure, a photo caption states that Plum Island "is named after the many plum trees that grow there," but it is actually named for its lush beach plum shrubs. Lost Cities has some sites that are no longer valid but does include good advice on using search engines to locate other Web sites if those listed are no longer available.
